School Observations (OT)

School observations can assist in finding solutions to issues in the classroom. Your child may benefit from a school observation to understand barriers and limitations in their ability to engage in school related tasks. The assessment involves an OT performing an observation of your child in the classroom as well as caregiver and teacher interviews. A school observation could be considered if your child:

  • Has difficulty concentrating in the classroom
  • Appears restless and fidgety
  • Has difficulty starting or completing tasks
  • Has difficulty managing routines
  • Seems to require movement to focus
