In today’s society it has been well documented that many children have difficulty with social interaction.
This is particularly the case for children with disabilities such as an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Headstart offers social skills development and training. This can involve individual sessions (child 1:1 with a Psychologist), pair sessions (2 children, 1 Psychologist) and group sessions (4-‐6 children with a Psychologist), depending on the childs’ needs. Headstart individually tailors its social skills programs to target specific deficit social skills to the individual child. This may include difficulties such as personal space, asking questions to get to know people, dealing with frustration, dealing with conflict etc.
