Headstart offer a range of social skills groups which are run periodically across our locations. All programs can be funded through NDIS or privately.

Lego Therapy Group
Age Group: variable
Lego groups focuses on the collaborative assembly of a construction project. There is an emphasis on verbal and non-verbal communication, joint attention, problem-solving, team work, sharing and turn-taking. These groups are run periodically. Early Teen Social Skills Group
Age Group: 12-16 year olds
This program is offered on the third Thursday of each month. Each session focuses on a different social skill. For example, conversation, greetings, friendship, conflict. The program is aimed at being both enjoyable and educational for all that attend. Participants contribute to the course content and thus tailored as much as possible to suit those attending. Adult Group
Age Group: 18+ year olds
The group provides adults with the opportunity to interact with others and develop their social skills.While many will have ASD this is not a requisite and anyone who is struggling socially is welcome to attend. Sessions are held on Tuesday’s each fortnight and typically run for 1 ¼ hours and are based at Wayville.
