Speech Pathologists

Georgia is a caring and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist who is passionate about working with paediatric and adult populations. In particular, she has experience working with those who have autism spectrum disorders, fluency concerns, literacy difficulties, language goals, speech sound production errors and those who are picky and fussy eaters. She completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Flinders University in 2015. 

Georgia previously worked as an Allied Health Assistant at Headstart throughout 2015 while studying at university. This saw her traveling to the homes of families with children with an autism spectrum disorder to provide speech pathology services specific to the individual’s and families goals. 

Georgia has experience working with children from an early age of 0-5 years through to school aged children and adolescents, as well as adults in rehabilitative contexts. Georgia is certified and trained in using the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding intervention.  This is an approach to feeding therapy that works towards increasing the variety and range of foods in a child’s diet. Georgia is also recognised by The Autism Association of SA as able to provide diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents and adults suspected of having an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Georgia is passionate about speech and language, particularly working in collaboration with schools in providing the best service for children and their families. She has had experience delivering speech pathology assessments and intervention programs that are individually tailored. Georgia ensures she meets the goals of the family by collaborating with other professionals to support their child’s needs.

Tom has returned to Headstart as a paediatric Speech Pathologist after living abroad to complete his Master’s degree. Through his academic work in caregiver involvement, Tom finds passion in working with children and their families to encourage intervention goals to be set collaboratively by key stakeholders in the child’s life. Tom provides high quality, evidence-based practice to clients in a way that prioritises children to enjoy their time in the clinic room while still aiming to make strong progress towards the goals set. He enjoys helping children to be stronger readers and writers, better communicators, and be more confident and happier in the classroom. 

Tom’s approach to working with clients is warm and kind, and aims to ensure both you and your child feel valued and respected. He is passionate about the following areas:

Amelia is a warm, bubbly, and dedicated Speech Pathologist who graduated from Flinders University in 2020. An Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostician with expertise in various areas, including Articulation and Phonology, Language Development and Disorders, Fluency Disorders, Cognitive-Communication Disorders, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and Social Communication Skills. She has worked with individuals of all ages, demonstrating a range of experience and skill. She is highly passionate about working with individuals and their families to achieve their goals. Her broad experience spans various ages, cultures, and socioeconomic groups, emphasising a tailored, client-focused approach to care, currently offered through Headstart.

Amelia operates from Wayville.

Lucy is a dedicated and kind Speech Pathologist with specific interest and experience working with autistic young people and their families. Lucy completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Flinders University in 2018.

Lucy works with children and adults with:

• Phonological awareness difficulties
• Literacy difficulties
• Complex communication needs

Lucy values a client-centred approach to intervention. She is passionate about neurodiversity-affirming practice, and enjoys developing her clients’ understanding of their diagnosis to promote self-advocacy. Lucy enjoys working collaboratively with families, schools and other disciplines in supporting her clients to reach their goals.
